Akpi Seeds Is Used as Food
The seeds are painstakingly harvested from the fruits of enormous and towering African trees belonging to the genus Ricinodendron, trees found and used as food and medicine all over the continent. With a chickpea-like appearance, these seeds are first dried and then ground into an easy-to-use powder for either culinary or health purposes (whether for making a tea, liniment, or incorporating into a lotion for topical use). According to folk tradition, the leaves, bark, and root of the djansang tree have healing properties, too.
